"My Favorite Philosopher is Mao Tsetung"

In 1944, F A Hayek wrote: "(T)he rise of fascism and naziism was not a reaction against the socialist trends of the preceding period but a necessary outcome of those tendencies.  This is a truth which most people were unwilling to see even when the similarities of many of the repellent features of the internal regimes in communist Russia and National Socialist Germany were widely recognized.  As a result, many who think themselves infinitely superior to the aberrations of naziism, and sincerely hate all its manifestations, work at the same time for ideals who realization would lead straight to the abhorred tyranny." (The Road To Serfdom, F A Hayek edited by Bruce Caldwell; The University of Chicago Press, 2007; p 59) So who are the real Nazis?  Those who admire, who want to follow Mao Tsetung, Marx, those who want the nanny state of socialism/communism?

Totalitarian?

In 1944 F A Hayek wrote: "The enemy, whether he be internal, like the 'Jew' or the 'kulak,' or external, seems to be an indispensable requisite in the armory of the totalitarian leader." (The Road To Serfdom, F A Hayek, edited by Bruce Caldwell; The University of Chicago Press, 2007; p 161)  Notice how many internal enemies our government has, big corporations, big banks, constitutionalists, conservatives.  They are nothing but "racists, Nazis, fascists."  Do you suppose that the left is projecting their hatred on those who oppose them.  Is the left fascist, Nazi, racist?  Notice the right does not call the left that.  Who are the real socialists?

Conspiracy?

"There is no national movement for socialism or dictatorship in America...nothing but fumbling compromisers and frightened opportunists.  Yet we are moving toward full, totalitarian socialism, with worn, cynical voices telling us that such is the irresistible trend of history.  History, fate and malevolent conspiracy are easier to believe than the actual truth: that we are moved by nothing but the sluggish inertia of unfocused minds...Collectivism, as a social ideal, is dead, but capitalism has not yet been discovered." (For The New Intellectual, Ayn Rand; Signet, 1963; p 45)
Talk about hope!  Colectivism, statism, socialism is dead.  Now what we need to do is discover capitalism.  We need to focus our minds, pick up some momentum and keep the steam roller moving ahead.

Hatred

"(P)eople hate not because of anything others do, or even because of who others are, but because they tend to blame others for their own unhappiness.  Hence, it is not in the power of America or of any other country to reduce others' hate for it." (No Victory, No Peace; Angelo Codevilla, Rowman & Littlefield, Publishers; 2005, p 98)
So that is why the left hates and detests the right.  The left is blaming the right for their own unhappiness.
So what do we do?  We can't change them.  They can only change themselves.  They are filled with hate because of their own failures.  They detest that the right has had success.
That is why Obama looks like such a fool going around the world apologizing for America.  He says he is trying to convince those who hate us that we are not so bad.  And he does it by admitting to "mistakes" the USA has made in the past and admitting to "mistakes" he claims we have made that we didn't make.
What he does not realize is that such groveling will NOT stop the hatred. In fact, it will make it worse.  It will invite others to attack us because Obama makes us look weak and weak-kneed.  To project weakness before those who hate us just invites them to take advantage of us.
What a fool Obama is!  Why doesn't he do us all, including the ones who hate us, a favor and just fade into the woodwork?  The only way to deal with such hatred is with strength like President Reagan did.
And that is what the right needs to do to the left, deal with them in strength.  Let's bowl them over with the next election, because we cannot change them.  We may be able to change their outward behavior, but that will only happen when they get run over by the right.

Constitution

"Today, when a concerted effort is made to obliterate this point, it cannot be repeated too often that the Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals---that it does not prescibe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government---that it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizens' protection against the government." (The Virtue Of Selfishness, Ayn Rand; Signet, 1964; p 133)  The Constitution protects us against Obamacare; it does not give the government the authority for Obamacare.

Czars

"In the progress of despotism the authority of the executive power gradually absorbs that of every other power in the state, and assumes to itself the management of every branch of revenue which is destined for any public use." (The Wealth Of Nations, Adam Smith, Bantam Books; 2003, p 924)  This book was first written in 1776.  Do these words sound familiar?  Can you say czars?  President Obama has assumed to himself every other power in the government, including the power of Congress and the power of the courts.  Other words that come to mind are "tyrant", "despot", "dictator" and a few others.  We need to stop this man as soon as possible.

Silent Majority

In 1965 Ayn Rand wrote: "All over the world, while mowing down one helpless nation after another, collectivism has been steadily losing the two elements that hold the key to the future: the brains of mankind and its youth...This is not to say that the anti-collectivists represent a numerical majority among college students.  The passive supporters of the status quo are always the majority in any group, culture, society, or age.  But it is not by passive majorities that trends of a nation are set.  Who sets them?  Anyone who cares to do so, if he has the intellectual ammunition to win on the battlefield of ideas, which belongs to those who do care." (Capitalism:The Unknown Ideal, Ayn Rand, Signet, 1967, pp. 303, 304; italics in original; bold underline added.)
This explains why we have gotten into the predicament we are now in with our government.  We were the "passive supporters" of what was the "status quo".  So we were not setting the trends of our nation.  Those who were setting them were the ones who cared "to do so".
What has happened now is that the majority has awakened and the advantage this majority has is that it has the "intellecual ammuntion to win the battlefield of ideas", because this majority does care.
The collectivists (i.e. the liberals, statists, believers in the nanny state) are losing or have lost the brains of mankind and the youth.  That is why they are screaming bloody murder.  They see the steam roller coming and they are pleading to stop it.
Sorry! We are not going to stop it.  Indeed, we hope to give it even more steam.  We do not want our country destroyed by the "leeches", because if it is destroyed by them, we all will be destroyed INCLUDING the "leeches".

Welfare State

Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve, wrote in 1966:"(T)he welfare state is nothing more than a mechanismby which governments confiscate the wealth of the productive members of a society to support a wide variety of welfare schemes." (Quoted in Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal, by Ayn Rand, 1967, p 106.)
We have a ton of work to do.  How long has the welfare state been around?  The welfare state, along with income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, is merely armed robbery by our government.  They force us to support both so they can take from us whatever we have worked for.  We are the "productive members" of society; government produces nothing.
And this will not be easy.  How many people have become dependent on the "welfare" of government?  And I am not talking only about those in poverty; "welfare recipients" are some of the biggest corporations in our country --- General Motors, AIG, unions.  We have to shrink our government to get it out of our lives.
Government does not exist for charity.  In fact, government never really gives charity, because it does not give what it has created; it gives what it has confiscated from the "productive members" of society.  And by doing that it destroys that which it leeches off of.  If leeches are allowed to mutiply on a body, they will eventually destroy the very thing that gives them life.  Our government is in the process of destroying the very body from which it draws life.  We must remove this leech or at least shrink it to where it will not destroy everything around it.  As one of our founding fathers stated: government is a necessary evil, a necessary leech.  But it does not have to destroy country if it is properly controlled by the body, by the populace.

Progressive Politicis = Projective Politics

Do you want to know what the left is up to?  Just listen to their criticism of the right.  Whatever they complain about the right is what they themselves are guilty of.  It is called "projection".  "Whatever I am guilty of I will accuse those around me of so that the attention will get turned away from my actions."
So the left often complains that the "right" is racist.  Have you heard some of the racist actions and comments from the left?  "Those poor people cannot provide for themselves...Those poor people can't figure out how to register ahead of time...'We' have to take care of those helpless immigrants...etc."
The left accuses the "right" of repressing free speech.  So the left shouts down any one who disagrees with them.
The left accuses the "right" of wanting government to interfere in our lives.  So the left wants to legislate to us all what kind of light bulbs to use, what kind of cars to drive, what kind of energy to use, etc.
The left accuses the "right" of giving tax breaks to the "rich".  So the left gives waivers to big corporations, protects their friends from the regulations set up by the feds.
So just listen to what the left is complaining about and you will know what they are guilty of.

Education

Why is our education system failing us?  Why are our children not learning to read?  Why are our children not learning the necessary skills for life?
Maybe the answer can be found in Isabel Paterson's "The God of the Machine": "The truth is that in a free country any person who remains illiterate might as well be left so; although simple literacy is not a sufficient education in itself, but the elementary key to an indispensable part of education in civilization.  But that further education in civilization cannot be obtained at all under full political control of the schools.  It is possible only to a certain frame of mind in which knowledge is pursued voluntarily." (p 259)
So why do so many of our children fail basic skills tests?  Is it because our schools are under politicial control?  Education cannot be gained at the point of a gun or under the force of law.  It can only be gained when it is pursued voluntarily.
We need to get our government out of education.

Ben Bernanke

Ben Bernanke is a socialist.  Listen to his response to Jaime Dimon after Ben's speech.  BB mourns the fact that we do not have the comprehensive tools to be able to predict what all the regulations the government is setting up will do to our economy.  "It is just too complicated," he says.  But then he goes ahead with all the other things the Feds are going to do.

This sounds like F Hayek.  He states that there is NO WAY anyone can decide ahead of time what will work for the whole economy.  "It is simply too complicated."  There are an infinite number of decisions that must be made daily and no one, except God, can make all those decisions for the best of everyone involved.  That is why the free market system works so well.  All these decisions are made on the ground by the individual in each interaction that is made.  The fact that Ben Bernanke thinks he or any group of ideologues can make those decisions from the top shows he is a socialist.  That is the foundation of socialism: "We (the experts) will make the decisions and set the regulations that will benefit everyone else.  We know what is best for everyone else."

What a joke!  Talk about a big ego!  Talk about having a Messianic complex.  How could anyone ever think they could dictate from the top what is the best for everyone else?  That is insanity for any human to claim for him/her self.  Those decisions can only be made by the individuals on the ground as they face each situation.  To try to set these decisions from the top is idealistic at its best and demonic at it worst.  It was exactly this philosophy that brought Hitler and Mussolini and Stalin  into power.  This is the philosophy of those who are power hungry.  They may not use guns, at least at first, to get people to fall into step, but eventually they will use force, the force of law which has the force of the gun behind it.  "Either you agree and conform or you will be punished."  It does not really matter if the punishment is fines or imprisonment or death.  If you refuse to submit to the punishment you will be destroyed.  And that is exactly what our government is doing now.

This is exactly what our country's founders were trying to avoid.  They believed that the only reason for government was protection from other governments.  Otherwise, the government was to stay out of the way.  And the reason this worked so much better and outlasted the USSR and other socialist states is because the decisions were not made top down, but made on the ground where individuals were directly involved in each situation.  The REAL experts are those simple folk on the ground who make life-changing decisions everyday and do it with all the information that the supposed experts simply cannot compute because it is way to complicated.  There is no way anyone can compute all the different facets of a decision for everyone else; it is simply too complicated.  The leaders of the USSR learned that, but BB and his followers including Alan Greenspan don't seem to realize it yet.  And that is exactly why some founding fathers did not want a national bank.  BB states that it is too complicated, that we do not have the systems to compute this very question.  F Hayek stated that there is never going to be a way to compute this from the top.  It must be done on the ground, each and every day.

So what do we do?  One thing we need to do is get those stupid "experts" like BB and Frank and Obama out of our government.  We need to shrink our government and get it out of the way for the free market.  This is the reason our country has been so prosperous up until the last century.  FDR and Woodrow Wilson are just a couple of examples of where our country started heading south.  They believed that government could solve our problems.  And that philosophy has grown ever since and Obama is the epitome of such foolish, insane thinking, ideology.  The Tea Party movement is on the right track.  That movement needs to keep up the pressure.

Why do we think our country prospered so much in its first two centuries?  It certainly wasn't because it had an unusual amount of natural resources.  It was not because it had such wise leaders through that whole time span.  The USSR had natural resources that rivaled or even surpassed what the USA had.  The Middle East has resources that rival what the USA has.  The only reason the USA prospered so greatly was because the government stayed out of the way of the individual people as each person made decisions as to how to manage work and life.  So we have ended with technology that the rest of the world envies.  And it was because the individual was free to express his/her ideas and plans as long as those plans did no harm his/her neighbor.

So, get the government out of the way!  Shrink it until it no longer can dominate the market and the freedoms of the individual.

Mediscare

I could listen to only a little of the debate between Paul Ryan and Van Hollen on Bret Baier's "The Medicare War".  The reason I could only listen to so little of it was that Van Hollen was obviously lying through his teeth.  The sense I got was he actually believed people would believe his lies if he repeated them often enough.  I just can't stand looking at those faces like Van Hollen knowing that they are looking at us expecting us to be so stupid we would believe their lies.  I don't know how people like Paul Ryan can look at them and face them with a straight face.  I would puke having to work with people like that.  Thank you Paul Ryan for being willing to do this work.  If he didn't do it, our country would be in the toilet led by idiots like Van Hollen.
