Will The Real Racist/Segregationist Please Stand Up?

If you want to find out who the real racists/segregationists are in our society, please read the book by David Barton, American History In Black & White. (Wallbuilder Press, 2004) Here are just a few facts to tease your mind:

  • In 1789 the U.S. government passed a law prohibiting slavery in a federal territory. In 1820, the Democratic Congress passed the Missouri Compromise that reversed that policy. (p 17)
  • In 1850, the Democratic Congress pass the Fugitive Slave Law requiring anyone who found escaped slaves to return them back to slavery. (p 18)
  • Indicating the tendency of the Democrats to use violence to make their point, Democrat Preston Brooks was proclaimed a hero for clubbing Senator Charles Sumner almost to death because Senator Sumner made a speech promoting civil rights and desegregation. It took Senator Sumner three and one-half years to recover. (p 21-22)
  • In 1871 not one Democrat voted to pass a bill to allow the government to punish Klan violence. (p 73)
  • In 1956 100 Democrats in Congress passed a manifesto denouncing the Supreme Court's decision to end segregation in schools.
This is just a few facts in American history that show a trend in the parties in our country. The book is full of facts about who are the real racists. Beware Nancy Pelozi, Harry Reid, Michael Moore, etc!  These facts along some more recent ones such as the Klan membership and leadership of the late Senator Robert Byrd raises serious questions about who are the real racists/segregationists.

Romney: Obama-lite?

It is beginning to look like Romney and Obama are just two peas in a pod. Oh, they may be on opposite ends of the pod, but they are two peas in the same pod.

That seemed to become very clear when the story came out that Romney sent his advisors to the White House to help Obama draw up and implement Obamacare.

Oh, Romney may claim that when RomneyCare was drawn up, that was on the state level. The claim is made that the states have a right to try things that the federal government cannot do.

Yet, even if that is the case, the fact that Romney and his staff supported RomneyCare would show that they believe that government subsidized health care is a good thing. That indicates that Romney believes in big government, government doing things for the private sector that the private sector supposedly is not able to do for itself. It would appear that Romney believes that big government, whether big state government or big federal government, is a healthy thing for our country. Romney is very obviously a member of the ruling class just like Obama. So the upper echelons of the Republican Party supports Romney because he would continue the policies of big government. Romney is a member of the ruling class just like the leadership of the GOP and Obama are.

What we need is someone who is from the outside, some one with no connections in the ruling class. We need a normal private citizen to run for the Presidency. Look at where the political "ruling class" has gotten us. They have led us to the brink of the cliff and those kind have no idea how to back us away from that cliff. If we want our country to go over the cliff we have our choices for who is going to lead us over the cliff, Romney or Obama. If we are going to back away from that cliff, we need to find someone else.

So, what do we want, one of the peas in the pod or someone outside the pod?

Obama History

"You supported Barack Obama in 2008. Why? Did you miss something?"

Last night on Hannity, that question was asked of Daniel Hannan, Member of European Parliament, who has been very critical of the policies of the U.S. government these last three years. He maintains that America is just a few years behind Europe in the financial crisis, just a few years behind Greece. Mr. Hannan is very conservative fiscally. Why did he support Barack Obama in 2008? Did he miss something?

"Part of that was I was incredibly underwhelmed by the Republican Party by the end of 2008. They had become a party of big spending, big deficits, bailouts, nationalizations. So I thought, how much worse can it get? Well, I had no idea how much worse it could get." ARE YOU LISTENING, REPUBLICANS? Mr Hannan says that one reason Obama won in 2008 was because the Republican Party was UNDERWHELMING. That is a very kind, British way of saying the Republican Party had nothing to offer different from Barack Obama. The Republican Party and the Democrat Party are birds of the same feather. Maybe there is a difference in the colors of the feathers, but they are the same species, "RULING CLASS", a class unto themselves, separate from the rest of the country. The Republicans are not really different from the Democrats, except the Republicans may not be so bold, so intense. They are just a mild form of the Democrats, Democrat-lite. In some ways, that makes them even worse than the Democrats, because they hide behind the skirts of the Democrats and then expect the voters to support them. What a crock!

Republicans, if you want the support of the grassroots movement, you better come out from behind the skirts of the Democrats. If you don't, the grassroots movement will move on without you, indeed opposed to you. Is that what you want? Stop supporting big government! Stop supporting government regulations for our lives! Stop using government to force your agenda down the throats of the American people! SHRINK GOVERNMENT!

Tipping Point

"We are getting very close to the tipping point, where we will not be able to save this country." "We need to work hard before we get to the tipping point when there will be no hope of avoiding disaster."

We hear statements like these two every once in a while. "We have to turn this country around before it gets to the tipping point."

Where is that tipping point? Daniel Hannan, author of "The New Road To Serfdom: A Letter Of Warning To America" and Member of the European Parliament made a very interesting statement this evening on Hannity's news show: "There are lots of ways in theory you could get out of this mess, by spending less and bringing your borrowing under control. In practice, the state in Europe has now reached a size that makes that kind of behavior politically impossible." The size of government creates a huge problem. When government gets so big it takes too much of the GDP to run, then the country runs grave danger of not being able to set aside enough funds to cover their expenses and still continue a real economy. And it does NOT help to borrow more to cover the expenses. That does not help the economy thrive. Instead, government borrowing takes away from the private economy funds needed to borrow to grow business. And so, the more government borrows, the less private business grows. And the less private business grows, the less tax income the government has and so the government has to borrow more and raise the tax rates. Raising tax rates takes more money from the private sector and so business has even less to use to grow. And so it has to borrow even more. It is a vicious circle.

And what is really sad is that the people affected the most by all this government growth and waste are the poorest of society. The job market gets tighter and so they have trouble finding jobs. The private sector cash shrinks and so they have less for charitable giving. It is not the rich that suffer from big government; in fact, the rich suffer the least from big government. It is the middle income and below that bear the brunt of this burden. What a shame! What statists try to cure with big government is made worse by big government.

Well, what do we do? Daniel Hannan on Hannity: "It is not something you can fix with tinkering around the edges, cutting one or two programs here and there. There has got to be a fundamental rethink aimed at bringing the budget back into balance within a couple of years, not within the next forty years or whatever the Republicans in Congress are talking about. We don't have that length of time to play with, I'm afraid."

We have to do some fundamental rethinking. One thing we need to rethink is the idea that government can solve our problems. Government CANNOT solve our problems; government is the problem. The only thing government can do is protect us and mediate between states whenever struggles arise. Government needs to shrink drastically so that the private sector can grow. When that happens, EVERYONE will benefit from the lower levels of society to the upper levels. Repeal most federal agencies. Start with the EPA and the Dept of Education. Do you know that the regulations of the EPA are causing more environmental damage than they are preventing? Do you know that since the federal Dept of Education was started, the U.S. has continually fallen in scholastic achievements?

Another agency, even though technically it is not a government agency, that should be shut down is the Federal Reserve. Even though it is not technically a part of the government, the government uses it to control our money supply and to redistribute wealth. One reason we find ourselves in the recession we are in, is because of the Federal Reserve and its illegitimate connection with the federal government has caused inflation and controlled the money flow to the detriment of the private sector and to the benefit of the big banks that are part of the Federal Reserve. Fire Ben Bernanke and close down the Federal Reserve!

The list could go on and on. The government has gotten so big that if it was shrunk to its proper size, none of us would recognize it. It would take decades for us to get use to living without the government interfering in our lives. And this includes our state governments also. SHRINK GOVERNMENT NOW!!!

Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, Obamacare

What has happened to Social Security and Meidcare/Medicaid? Why are they going bankrupt? Is it because we have not put enough money in the system? Hardly! In fact, if we as individuals had invested for ourselves the same amount of money we paid for SS tax, we all would be millionaires today. Has Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid made us millionaires? Don't laugh too loudly! "(I)t is not difficult to see what must be the consequences when democracy embarks upon a course of planning. ..Democratic assemblies cannot function as planning agencies...it would certainly in the end satisfy nobody." (The Road To Serfdom (Abridged Edition), Friedrich A Hayek; The University of Chicago Press, 1994; pp 15,16)

So we made a mistake in having our Congress, our government, plan for our retirement. Does that mean that since we have spent so many years trying to make this sad mistake work, that we should refuse to give it up? That sounds like the definition of insanity: "Keep doing the same thing expecting different results." If we keep doing the same thing, we are just going to get deeper and deeper into the quicksand. Sure, we can keep screaming and shouting about our terrible circumstances, but what good does screaming and shouting do? It certainly does not fix the problem. In fact, it just makes it worse. The screaming and shouting cause people to panic and then watch how much faster we will sink.

Let's get Paul Ryan and others like him to work out a plan to get out of Social Security and MM and let's get it done.

AND while we are at it let's get out of Obamacare NOW. We have seen what Social Security and MM have done for us. Why wait any longer with Obamacare?

Hope

There is hope for us who want to return our country to its Constitution. The hope is that the statist form of government never works. Over time people recognize that such leaders cannot fulfill the promises they make. That is what happened in the USSR, is happening in China, happened in Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. It will also happen here. We are beginning to see it already. The left is getting ready to throw BO under the bus because he is not fulfilling the promises he made. The public in our country is getting ready to throw our whole government out because the politicians are simply not able to fulfill all the promises they make. These politicos make all kinds of promises in order to get elected and then fall flat on their faces after they get into office. We the people are getting tired of such foolishness, such lying. "The claim that a planned economy would produce a substantially larger output than the competitive system is being progressively abandoned by most students of the problem. Yet it is this false hope as much as anything which drives us along the road to planning." (The Road To Serfdom (Abridged Edition), Friedrich A Hayek; The University of Chicago Press, 1994; p 14)

It is this claim that a planned economy would produce more than the free market is what has driven the leftists to press for a dictatorial government, one planned from the top.  Yet this is a false hope. And many people are beginning to see that. A planned economy is supposed to feed the hungry better, take better care of the poor, provide better health care for the sick, make our country more loving and kind and better, but we are finding out that such a plan is just a pipe dream. Such a government does not help poor countries more, does not protect our environment better, does not help the poor in our country better, does not do anything better than a free market. And then to top it all off, such a planned society, a government that plans everything from the top down takes away all our freedoms and liberty. So it just makes matters worse. It does not help the weak and frail and it crushes anyone who is strong. What a complete failure.

So let us return to small government---a government that only serves to protect us from enemies external and internal and serves as a mediator within our boundaries and leave the rest to the free market. I bet we will find that the poor will be taken care of better and the strong will be able to do what is necessary to provide for themselves and those around them. SHRINK GOVERNMENT!

BO TV Time

Why does BO spend so much time making speeches and appearing on TV?

A dictator "must gain the support of the docile and gullible, who have no strong convictions of their own but are ready to accept a ready-made system of values if it is only drummed into their ears sufficiently loudly and frequently." (The Road To Serfdom (Abridged Edition), Friedrich A Hayek; The University of Chicago Press, 1994; p 20)  Anybody ever wonder how many speeches Hitler made in his climb to power? Or how often Lenin and Stalin appeared publicly? Or Mussolini? Are we seeing a repeat or at least an attempt to repeat what Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, and Mussolini did? Just shout often enough and loud enough and the docile and gullible will support it.

And it does not matter if what you say is true or not. In fact, you can contradict yourself with every speech, you can make promises that you know you cannot fulfill, that does not matter. Just talk loud enough and often enough and the docile, gullible will fall right in step.

Managing The Government

Since government is so busy chasing its own tail, how do we go about breaking that cycle? The legislators overstep their bounds by passing laws that regulate our lives in intricate, complex ways. The they realize there are unforeseen consequences to those legal regulations and so they pass more legal regulations to correct the problems with the first set. Then they realize there were unforeseen consequences for those laws and so they have to pass some more laws to correct for those consequences and then they realize...... You get the picture. How do we stop this foolishness?

We don't. This is what government is all about. That is why we have to strip government down to the bare bones because if we don't we will suffocate under the weight of all those legal regulations, all those laws. Government MUST be restrained and contained or it is going to kill us socially and even personally. That is why the Constitution was written to RESTRICT government, not to AUTHORIZE government. The founding fathers knew very well how burdensome to the private sector government can become. And so they wrote the Constitution to restrain and contain government. The Constitution was not written to restrain or even to authorize the citizens. The citizens did not need the Constitution to authorize them to have their rights. The rights we have are God-given, natural. We have them because we are born with them. The Constitution had one object in mind: restrict, restrain, contain government. The Constitution was written to prevent government from becoming so overwhelming that it would smother the private sector and the rights that we have by virtue of our birth.

Does this sound familiar? Sounds like what is happening today, doesn't it? Why is it happening? It is happening because so many of our elected officials despise the Constitution. So many of our elected officials, and even our appointed officials, consider the Constitution something to be stomped on and ridiculed. And as a result, those officials, elected and appointed, end up getting themselves all tied up in knots trying to figure out how they can correct the unforeseen consequences of the legal regulations they have created. They end up chasing their tails and get so dizzy they don't even know what is coming next.

That is why James Madison wrote: "It will not be denied, that power is of an encroaching nature, and that it ought to be effectually restrained from passing the limits assigned to it." (The Federalist Papers; Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay; Bantam Dell, 2003; p 301) Power is encroaching; power just grows without encouragement. And so it must be restrained, contained, restricted.

But "(w)ill it be sufficient to mark with precision the boundaries of these departments in the Constitution of the government, and to trust to these parchment barriers against the encroaching spirit of power?...experience assures us, that the efficacy of the provision has been greatly over-rated." (ibid, p 301) James Madison realized that just having a piece of paper that lays out the restrictions on government is not sufficient. That efficacy is over-rated. As it should be. After all, a piece of paper does nothing to stop anything. It needs to have enforcement. But what enforcement?

"(T)he people are the only legitimate fountain of power....it is from them that the constitutional charter...is derived." (ibid, p 307) The enforcement comes from WE THE PEOPLE. The buck stops here, not at WDC, the state houses, the county courthouses, or the city halls. The buck stops with WE THE PEOPLE.

That is why it is such a shame that any official would state in any way that elections should be postponed or canceled. That is pure revolution. That is treason, even if stated in a joking manner. To state this even in a joking manner is like shouting "FIRE" in a crowded theater. To even entertain such a thought is pure revolt against the legitimate fountain of power.

And so we the people must start taking our responsibility seriously. We have the task of managing the employees of this country, the elected and appointed officials. One reason we have gotten into such a burdensome place is because we the people have not carried out our responsibility. And so our government has chased its tail until the hole has gotten so deep it will take years, decades and many elections to remove ourselves. We have only ourselves to blame for all the work we now have before us.

But what do we do? We can't get rid of government. Government is a necessity. The founding fathers called it a "necessary evil." So what do we do?

We MANAGE the government. That means that we do NOT destroy our government. God forbid! For even though, as Winston Churchill said, "Democracy is a terrible form of government, but I have found nothing better." We have the best form of government. So we do NOT want to destroy our government. We MANAGE it. We supervise, govern, direct our government. We keep it within its limits. That is what the Constitution gives us guidance in doing. We manage our government by making sure it remains within the limits that the Constitution has laid out so that our government does kill our freedoms and society and country.

And so, government being government, will continue to chase its own tail, but as long as it does this within certain limits it causes much less damage/evil than if we just let it run rampant over the Constitution, the country and us.

The problem for us now is to get it back to its limits. We have let this slip so long that we have a task that will last for years, decades, and many elections. But then, what would we expect? The buck stops here. This task is REALLY a daily task, a life-long task, for everyone, IF we want to remain free. As Benjamin Franklin answered the woman who asked him what kind of government the convention had given the citizens: "A republic, ma'am, IF YOU CAN KEEP IT." IF YOU CAN KEEP IT. Keeping a republic is a constant task. What we need to do is pass this concept onto those that come after us in this life. We, they, MUST work daily to keep the republic. That is the responsibility of we the people.

Sober Reform Of Government

There can not be much doubt that our government, especially federal but also state, needs major reform. But what kind of reform is needed? Would this include more 2000 page legislation that lawyers can haggle over endlessly, thus creating more work for themselves? Oh, I hope not, but what needs to be done to reform our government?

You know what? The government can not reform itself. We the people need to reform our government. No one else can do it. For when the government tries to reform itself, it just gets in deeper and deeper. The government trying to reform itself is like a dog chasing its tail. The faster it goes the dizzier the politicians get. And the dizzier they get the more madness/confusion we get from the government. The government passes reform which it then has to reform which it then has to reform, etc. Do you see where this ends? We finally end up spinning ourselves right into the ground.

James Madison could have told us that 235 years ago. Those gullible, unscientific, aged, old-fashioned founding fathers knew human nature. Listen to James Madison: "(The sober people) have seen, too, that legislative interference, is but the first link of a long chain of repetitions; every subsequent interference being naturally produced by the effects of the preceding. They very rightly infer, therefore, that some thorough reform is wanting which will banish speculations on public measures, inspire a general prudence and industry, and give a regular course to the business of society." (The Federalist Papers; Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay; Bantam Dell, 2003; p 273)

The legislative interference is but the first link of a long chain of repetitions. Does that sound familiar? Congress passes a law and then realizes all kinds of unsuspected consequences for which they have to pass another law to clear up which leads to all kinds of other unsuspected consequences for which they have to pass another law to clear up which leads.... You get the picture.

So James Madison states that a reform is wanting which will banish speculations on public measures. But what kind of reform? Won't this just lead to Congress chasing its tail some more? How can this cycle be broken? What kind of reform is needed?

There is only one answer: GET THE GOVERNMENT OUT OF OUR LIVES. REPEAL GOVERNMENT. Oh, not all of it, but repeal all the laws that are beyond and outside of what the Constitution requires our government do for us. What would that be?

Well, our Constitution requires our government to defend us from enemies external and internal. And internal enemies do NOT mean business enemies, competitive enemies, sports enemies, but enemies that would destroy our freedoms of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And notice it does not mean people who prevent us from being happy, but prevent us from pursuing happiness.  We may pursue happiness our whole life and never get there. So be it! The government is not commissioned to give us that happiness, but just protect our right to pursue it. And by the way, pursuit of happiness originally meant the freedom to own property, to own what we have earned by our own labor.

The Constitution also requires our government mediate between states in any disputes between them. That does not mean that the national government has the right to create a relationship between the states, but to only mediate if the states cannot agree with each other and to monitor it so that those states do not go to arms in their dispute. Nor does that mean that the national government can dictate to the states how they may do business in their own states or even between each other unless it interferes with the business of another state. And even then, the national government is to only mediate in the dispute, not dictate. The states are to find their own solution to the dispute and to use the national government in the dispute only if necessary and desired by the states.

So what do we do with the rest of the national government, all the bureaucracies, agencies, czars and every other structure the government has created. All these creations of the government has created nothing but confusion and burden.

REPEAL THEM! Sounds quite simple, doesn't it? Well, just try it. You will find a bunch of screaming, crying idiots.

Well, what do we do? Do we just go along the way we have and sink right down the toilet or do we shrink government down to survive and put up with the whining and crying? The choice is ours. It will take a horrendous amount of work. It will be a life-time job. Indeed, the reason the job has gotten so big is that we have not been paying attention to it all along. We thought our officials, elected and appointed, were taking care of business, but you know what? IT DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. We the people are the responsible ones and if we are not paying attention why should we expect our officials to pay attention? The buck stops HERE! Not in WDC or the state capitols or the county courthouses/city halls. No, the buck stops HERE at "we the people". And if we are not taking care of business, no one else will do so. So let's get to work and let's expect to work for decades, indeed for life, because that is what it takes to manage our freedoms and protect them. God bless our efforts!

No Trust In The Government?

Why does it seem that the public has no confidence or respect for our government? Why is BO ridiculed so relentlessly? Why is a Senator chased out of a restaurant in his home state? Where has the civility gone?

"(The people's) confidence in and obedience to a government, will commonly be proportioned to the goodness or badness of its administration." (The Federalist Papers; Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay; Bantam Dell, 2003; p 156) Alexander knew what it took for a government to be respected and for civility to rule in the country. It took good administration of the government.

When BO and his minions complain about the civility in this country, Alexander Hamilton would have them look at themselves. The tone of the country is set by the leaders, elected and appointed. Does the public seem to lack civility? Is it because the administration of our government, the actual work being done in WDC lacks civility or as some want to call it, common sense? Lack of civility by leaders leads to lack of civility by the public.

The founding fathers were very wise. Let us not think them unsophisticated. Let us not think them old-fashioned, unscientific. Times have not changed. Oh granted, we have technology and medical science and other scientific achievements they may not have had. Yet they were just as intelligent as people today, and sometimes even more intelligent and at least civil. Now we have leaders who tell bold faced lies and don't care. Why would we think the public would be any more civil than that?

Don't complain about the civility, the morality, the industriousness of the public today unless you are willing to look at yourself.

Was James Madison A Prophet?

I am totally stunned by the wisdom and foresight of James Madison. Listen to this: "I will add as a fifth circumstance in the situation of the House of Representatives, restraining them from oppressive measures, that they can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as on the great mass of the society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together...without which every government degenerates into tyranny...what is to restrain the House of Representatives from making legal discriminations in favor of themselves and a particular class of society? I answer...above all the vigilant and manly spirit which actuates the people of America, a spirit which nourishes freedom and in return is nourished by it.  If this spirit shall ever be so far debased as to tolerate a law not obligatory on the Legislature as well as on the people, the people will be prepared to tolerate anything but liberty." (The Federalist Papers; Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Jay; Bantam Dell, 2003; p 349, 350)

No wonder there is such a chasm between the "ruling class" inside the beltway and the "country class", the rest of us. Congress passes a law and the law exempts the Congress and government employees from the law. Talk about creating two classes, the ruling class and in the eyes of the ruling class, the hicks, the country class. The representatives and senators and their staffs and the bureaucrats are exempt from the law and the rest of us are subject to the law and also pay for the law. So the members of the ruling class sit on  their high and mighty thrones inside the beltway and the rest of us kiss their feet and thank them for passing such intelligent laws. This is one impetus that has been leading us towards tyranny. Without the bond of living under the same laws, we will degenerate into a tyranny.

The fact that we have allowed this to happen is really sad. We need to demand that all exemptions for employees of the government, elected and appointed, be repealed retroactive. Maybe we need to consider an amendment to the Constitution that states that no law shall exempt government employees from its obligations. It is a shame that we would even have to consider such an amendment. Certainly the employees of government are moral enough to consider such an exemption an outrage. It also is a shame that the lawmakers don't consider their laws to be worth living under. If we continue to allow this we will tolerate anything "except liberty." What a sad state of affairs we have allowed to government to come to! We have been running toward tyranny, but thanks to BO we have come awake.

Thank you, James Madison, for being so clear minded.

Prophesy

I found a very interesting comment about legislation as it is written today and especially about Obamacare. It is: "It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood." (The Federalist Papers; Hamilton, Alexander; Madison, James; and Jay, John; Random House, 2003; p 380.) It sounds like these words were written about the thousands of pages of Obamacare. The problem is it was written by James Madison in the late 1700's.

How many times have we heard that even the members of Congress had not (and probably have not) read the legislation for Obamacare? Nancy Pelozi so smartly said that they had to pass it to find out what was in it. Talk about bold faced stupidity. No wonder our government is in so low esteem with the public. When the members of our government make such ridiculous statements, it makes them look like fools. And so James Madison wrote: "(T)he most deplorable effect of all is that the diminution of attachment and reverence which steals into the hearts of the people towards a political system which betrays so many marks of infirmity, and disappoints so many of their flattering hopes. No government any more than an individual will long be respected, without being truly respectable, nor be truly respectable without possessing a certain portion of order and stability." (ibid, p 381)

What is frightening about this is how it exposes us to our enemies in the world. "America...finds that she is held in no respect by her friends; that she is the derision of her enemies; and that she is a prey to every nation which has a interest in speculating on her fluctuating councils and embarrassed affairs." (ibid, p 380)

Another side effect of such foolishness is the suffering it causes the people, the ones watching from the sidelines by giving an advantage to the insiders. "Another effect of public instability is the unreasonable advantage it gives to the sagacious, the enterprising and the moneyed few, over the industrious and uninformed mass of the people. Every new regulation concerning commerce or revenue, or in any manner affecting the values of the different species of property, presents a new harvest to those who watch the change, and can trace its consequences; a harvest reared not by themselves but by the toils and cares of the great body of their fellow citizens. This is a state of things in which it may be said with some truth that laws are made for the few not for the many." (ibid, p 380-381; italics in original) No wonder George Soros, Mitch Romney, Rick Perry and others like them love this chaos. They have experts who can guess the "consequences" of these laws with much greater accuracy than the rest of us can. No wonder the law profession has done so well in this society. They like laws that are so complex and so susceptible to misinterpretation that they will have work for themselves and earn large bucks "defending" the "great body of their fellow citizens."

This is another side effect of large government. If government were so small that it could write its laws on pages that can be numbered in single digits, there would be little need for lawyers.

And please notice that James Madison wrote that these "laws are made for the few not for the many." These laws are not written to protect us, the populace, the many; they are written to benefit the few, the moneyed, the enterprising. They are not written to protect the industrious and uninformed, but for the moneyed and favored. Why do you think we have so many lobbyists?

James Madison was indeed a prophet.

Mad At Obama

The left is mad at BO. They have been mad for a while, but now they are daring to express their anger. He has not given them what they wanted. (And I am not only talking about Democrats here. The left I refer to here also includes the Republican establishment. Since BO seems to have failed, the Republican establishment is panicking and pleading for some establishment candidate to run, someone like Christie. It seems obvious that Romney, Perry and other establishment candidates cannot cut it. So the Republican establishment is furiously looking for someone who can continue this trek. So, the Republican establishment won't even give a look to Cain, Palin, Bachman just like they would not even give a chance to J C Watts and others like him.)

Rush claims that BO has given the left, the progressives what they wanted and more. And when you think about it, he has given them a lot.

But he has made them look bad. Look at the polls. Look at election 2010 and the possibilities of 2012. It does look like the country is turning against the left, against socialism, against statism, against nanny government. It seems quite evident that the majority of the country is turning against the government providing everything for them all the time. What the country is discovering is that the government is not god. The majority of the country is turning against the government because it has not provided solutions to all their problems. The majority of the country is becoming disaffected by the government because it has not given them, the people, a utopia. BO has made socialism look like an utter failure. The left, the socialists, the statists, the supporters of a nanny government are mad. And they are mad because they are scared. "What will happen to us, if we cannot get socialism/nazism/statism/nanny government to work?" They honestly have no answer to that question. "If this does not work, then the future is very bleak; in fact, it becomes a black hole swallowing everything up, including us." So their anger is just the back side of panic and fear. If a person does not know what is causing all the pain and suffering, then that person will strike out at anything close at hand. Guess what/who is close at hand! BO!!

But what did they expect? BO is not god, even though originally they may have thought he was and they treated him like he was. The lame street media is turning on him. But what did they expect?

They expected utopia. They wanted him to set up the granddaddy of all nanny governments and to make it look, smell and taste so good that all the people would fall right into step and everyone would be happy ever after. Sounds like a fairy tale, doesn't it?

You know what! It is a fairy tale. We cannot have utopia on this earth. It shall not happen. BO did not realize this when he started this trek. He honestly thought he could transform America to create a utopia in this world.

What he did not do was read history, even recent history. Why did the Berlin wall fall? Was it because President Reagan was so tough and strong? Not really. He was tough and strong and a very good president (not a perfect one, but a good one). What caused the Berlin wall to fall, what will cause nazism, fascism, and now "progressivism" to fall is that all these philosophies are mortally defective. They have their own destruction planted right in their seed. The mortal defect is that such utopia is impossible. It is a pipe dream. It will collapse under its own weight.

In a way, I feel sorry for BO. He was led on by many who used him to try to accomplish their goals and when he ultimately fails, as he will because of the mortal defect of his philosophy, he will be their fall guy. He was set up by those who supported him. Some who originally supported him are now saying: "I guess he was not ready for the job." Others are saying he compromises way too much, that he just does not have the guts it takes to be a statist, socialist, nazi, fascist president. Whatever! He just did not get the job done.

The problem is that not even Hitler, Stalin, Tsetung, Castro, FDR, Mussolini, Woodrow Wilson, etc. could get it done. Why not? It was because progressivism has a mortal defect: it cannot happen. And when it does not happen, the nazis, fascists, socialists, progressives look for someone to blame. And guess what? They blame the person they has placed their hopes on. It certainly looks like BO is going to get thrown under the bus. I can't imagine what he is feeling now. He started with such "great possibilities" and look at where he may end up: run over by the bus driven by his very own supporters.

So now those very BO supporters are seriously suggesting we cancel elections for 2012. Why? Well, they are fearful that 2012 will make 2010 look like a spilled glass of water compared to a tsunami. They are scared, terrified. They are trying to stop what they see as a disaster.

What a bunch of fools! What they don't realize is that EVEN if they could cancel the 2012 elections, that would not help their cause. Their cause has a mortal defect, certain failure. That is what happens to utopia in this world. And if such a drastic move, like canceling the elections, should ever happen, it would cause even more torture and turmoil for them than they already have, because what they want to happen cannot happen. It is impossible; it is utopia.

And it would not have helped to have Hilary Clinton or John McCain as president. It will not help to have a Romney or Perry or Christie as president. All that would mean is that the death of the movement would much slower and more painful. More people would have suffered a very slow agonizing death of the dream of utopia. And then despair would still have set in just like it appears to be setting in now.

But they are stubborn, if nothing else. In the face of certain defeat, in the face of utter failure, in the face of severe pain, emotional and even physical, they just keep ploughing on, even suggesting the cancellation of the obvious, failure of their philosophy, by canceling the 2012 elections or maybe even canceling 2012 altogether. Or maybe we should cancel life. After all, if utopia cannot happen, then life just leads to a black hole that swallows everything and everyone up---utter destruction.

This is sad. It is so sad to see BO in such pain. It is sad to see the socialist progressives in such pain. But what is even worse is the pain they cause everyone else, people who just want to live their lives and provide for their families and be left alone. NO, these progressives cannot leave people alone because that would be admitting their philosophy, political structure is a failure. So, even if it causes people on the sidelines pain, these progressives must press on. Yes, they are doubled over in pain, they have been severely, mortally wounded. That is bad enough in itself, but they are causing the same kind of pain for those who stand on the sidelines watching this tortuous struggle.

So what needs to be done? What can we do to end this struggle?

NOTHING! No matter what we do, it will play itself out. All we can do is triage whoever is willing to be triaged and work to soothe the pain and suffering. We cannot prevent the struggle. Even trying to prevent the struggle is a form of utopia. What our job must be is to soothe the pain and suffering as best as we can.

What To Do! What To Do!

Progressives/liberals (BO, Pelosi, Reid, etc.) are deceivers/confusers.  They, at the core, are not liars, that is, they are not consistent liars; they are deceivers/confusers.  They will use the truth whenever necessary to confuse people.  They will boldly lie even though their lies contradict each other.  The object is not consistency; it is confusion.  For when people get confused they make mistakes.  When they enter the voting booth confused, they will often vote for the confuser/deceiver or at least vote in such a way that they negate the effectiveness of their vote.
The purpose behind this confusion is destruction.  The deceiver/confuser only desires to destroy anything that is orderly or good or beneficial.
Why do they do this?  What does the deceiver/confuser seek to accomplish?  Maybe they seek nothing except destruction, confusion.  They seem to enjoy confusion, destruction.
So when someone tries to do what is good, orderly, beneficial, the deceiver/confuser looks for the slightest flaw in such a person and accuses, accuses, accuses.  No one is perfect and so even if someone tries to do what is good, orderly, beneficial, such a person will make mistakes.  The deceiver/confuser jumps on those flaws with alarming joy.  The deceiver/confuser/destroyer (DCD) will use those flaws to create more confusion and to hopefully destroy the person trying to do what is good, orderly and beneficial.
Even when the person making the mistake admits the mistake and confesses their flaws, that does not satisfy the DCD until the person making the mistake is destroyed and rendered ineffective.  Destruction and confusion is the goal of the DCD.  The DCD will demand that the person making the mistake be punished to the ultimate, destruction.
But don’t the DCD ever admit their mistakes?  Oh yes, they will, WHEN they are cornered, but not before.  An example of that is Weiner. When the DCD is trapped by painting themselves into a corner, they will “confess”, admit their mistake, but will not subject themselves to any kind of consequence or punishment.  If any one demands punishment, the DCD will accuse the one demanding of incivility, lack of compassion, ruthlessness, lack of loving kindness, even though the DCD will never show that civility, compassion, mercy and kindness for someone else who may have been trying to do what is orderly, beneficial, and good (OBG), but made a mistake.  The DCD will demand that the OBG live up to their standards while the DCD refuse to do live up to those standards.  In fact, the DCD use this situation to create more confusion: “See, they don’t even live up to their own standards.  Why do they expect us to live up to them?”  “They are nothing but hypocrites.”
Another example of this is abusive people.  When they are caught, they plead for mercy.  If they are not granted mercy, they accuse those who accuse them of abuse of lack of love and compassion.  But if they catch the other person in a mistake or “flaw”, they show no compassion or they use compassion to create confusion.  That confusion keeps the other person in the power of the abuser because the other person does not know what to do next.  The abused is looking for guidance and if some OBG does not give guidance, they will look for guidance anywhere, even from the DCD, the abuser.  They are hooked.
That is what is happening in our society today and in our politics today.  The DCD have created so much confusion that people don’t know what to do next.  Unless some OBG steps up and gives guidance, people will look to whomever will offer guidance, even to the DCD.  For DCD project confidence.  They project confidence because they believe that no one will call them out, no one will confront them.  And they are confident because they only believe in confusion, that is, they believe in nothing except confusion and destruction and deception.  So they confidently deceive and confuse because they do not have to be consistent.  It makes no difference if someone points out their errors, mistakes, deceptions; they just throw up more confusion, deception and destruction.  Even if someone should show them their deceptions, their subtle response is: “So?”  “So you have shown me exactly what I have been trying to do all along.  Big whop!  What’s your point?”
If someone says to them: “You shouldn’t do that”, their answer is “Why not?  Don’t you even do that?  Are you so self-righteous as to claim that you have never told a lie, deceived, confused people?”  And so even if you would never have done that, you are wrong because you are self-righteous or you are ridiculed as so stupid as to believe that you are perfect and if you admit you have also done that, then they claim they cannot understand why you are so hard on them; you are being rigid, loveless, lacking compassion.  Aha, they have trapped you.  You cannot judge them because you are not perfect.
Ah, confusion, what a beautiful thing!  It works wonders like destroying everyone and everything.  It is interesting that Saul Alinsky dedicates his “Rules” to Satan.  Satan is the optimum DCD.  His goal is nothing else than destruction and he does it by confusion and deception.  If someone accuses him of deception, his response is “So?  And what are you trying to say by accusing me of that?”
So what do we do?  How do we put a stop to this?
We can’t put a stop to this.  A DCD never stop being a DCD unless he wants to.  No one can force a DCD to be otherwise.
So what do we do?  We work on ourselves.  We work on doing whatever is orderly, beneficial, good.  And when we recognize we have not lived up to our own standards, we DO NOT quit.  Rather, we admit our failures, ask for forgiveness and keep plodding ahead, knowing that we will be viciously attacked by the DCD.  The DCD cannot stand someone who is focused on doing OBG.  It creates angst and anxiety for them.  They will do whatever they can to destroy such a person.
So be it!  That need not cause us to try to become DCD.  What a horrible state to be in!  Being DCD means ending up in destruction.  That is not a happy place.  If someone desires to be there and remain there, the only thing we can do is strive our hardest to do OBG and hopefully entice the DCD out of their DCD.  And in the meantime we can enjoy whatever OBG happens in spite of the DCD.

What Makes Us American?

My daughter wrote a blog about my maternal grandmother who emigrated to this country when Grandma Anne was 16.  When she was 78, she traveled back to Norway to visit a sister she had not seen for 62 years.  Her sister told her that Anne should stay in Norway now.  Grandma Anne didn't even hesitate: "No, America is now my home," she said.

That sort of thinking on the part of my grandmother started me thinking about what makes us Americans.  Are we Americans because we believe in freedom?  Hardly!  There are many people in the world in other countries who believe in freedom.  Is it that we are born in America?  No, because then my grandmother would not have been American.  Is it that we speak American-English?  No, because many of the early immigrants did not speak English when they came here.  Is it that we have relatives here or family here?  My grandmother said America is her home; her family is there.  Yet she still had family back in Norway.  That is not what made her American.  Well, what makes us American?

There is only one answer.  An American is one who takes an oath to live under the Constitution.  The legal immigrants go through a process to prepare them to take a public oath to support and live under the Constitution of this country.

Granted, speaking a common language, American-English can be extremely beneficial in our daily tasks and our relationships, business and personal.  But there are many people who may speak American-English and still are not American.  People from many other countries have been taught our language, but are still citizens of their home countries.  There is only one characteristic that makes us American and that is committing ourselves to living by the Constitution.

But what does that say about Nancy Pelozi when she ridicules the question of whether the Constitution allows Congress to create and pass a certain bill?  Sounds like she is not American.  Or what about BO when he makes it known that he doesn't care what the Constitution or Congress say; he is going to do what he wants?  He doesn't sound American.  Or what about the California state government passing a law to not use the electoral college any more?  Doesn't sound very American.  Or what about our Congress in WDC passing Obamacare even though it contradicts the Constitution?  Those officials must have forgotten they are American.

So, what do we do about those officials, the President, the Representatives, the Senators, the bureaucrats, the czars, etc who show bold disrespect for our Constitution?  Well, if we can we educate them.  If they refuse to submit themselves to the Constitution, we remove them from their office because they have violated their oath of office and we elect others who will submit themselves to what makes us American, our commitment to the Constitution.  Oh, this will not happen overnight or in one election.  It will take longer than that.  But we must keep up the effort because if we give up seeking to live by the Constitution we stop being Americans, no matter if we have family here, if we speak American-English or we work here, live here or anything else.  It is the Constitution that shows us freedom and it is the Constitution that protects that freedom.  Without the Constitution we are nothing by serfs and slaves of the political ruling class.

LONG LIVE THE CONSTITUTION!!!!

Disapproval Process

Do you know that the in this bill just passed to raise the debt limit Congress included a statement that give BO the authority to raise the debt limit whenever and however he wants UNLESS Congress DISAPPROVES?  This is called the "disapproval process."  It is found on page 30 section 301 of the bill.
The Congress does this with anything they consider too hot for them to handle.  They just turn it over to some bureaucrat.  That way they can avoid having to vote on or even debate the question.  It will take place automatically unless Congress disapproves.  That way they can hide under the guise that they still maintain control when what they have really done is abdicated their control.  BO can raise it anytime he wishes and any amount he wishes without ever letting anyone know.
Congress has done exactly the same with their pay.  They passed a law some time ago that states their pay will automatically be raised unless Congress disapproves.  How would you like to have your pay increase unless you disapprove?  You see, that way they do not have to subject themselves to the embarrassing process of debating the pay raise.  And so no one is aware of the raise unless they become aggressive and search for it.  That is the "disapproval process."
That is why so many are jumping up and down and screaming whenever the grassroots freedom movement (GFM) starts asking questions.  We are threatening their gravy train---automatic pay raises while shirking all their responsibilities.  What the GFM is asking for is for Congress to take on their responsibilities.  And members of Congress are screaming bloody murder, calling the GFM terrorists simply because the GFM wants Congress to take their responsibilities seriously.
Imagine what that says about those members of Congress that won election in '10 because of the awesome support of the GFM and then stabbed the GFM in the back by voting for this debt limit increase that goes on without end.  Talk about traitors.  No wonder the GFM is starting to have questions about some they supported previously.  Indeed, anyone of the GFM that did not have questions about these back-stabbers would be fools.
Well, what do we do?  We keep substituting others into the lineup until we find those who will do what is right and good for the country.  That may take many elections but so be it.  We cannot give up, because if we do we, like the back-stabbers, will be letting our country go right down the toilet.  We must keep working for those we believe will do what is right.  Then, if they fail us, as some will, we move on to some one else.  We keep trying different parts until the parts work as they should.  It is a very slow process, but at least this process is moving in the right direction unlike the Congress and executive and even the judicial branches are now heading.
WE HAVE OUR WORK CUT OUT FOR US.  GO GFM!!!!!

The Brushfires Of Freedom

"It does not require a majority to prevail...but a tireless, irate minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." (Sam Adams)  What is even more exciting is "freedom only needs to be started; slavery needs to be enforced."  That is what scares the Progressives.  The Tea Party is a brush fire and it is spreading like wild fire.  They are working their tails off trying to put out this brush fire, but there is so much timber for this fire, it is getting out of control.
Isn't it interesting that the opponents of the Tea Party, the grassroots freedom movement, try to remind us that America and our founding fathers used to have slavery.  That fact is true, but what the Progressives are saying is that the grassroots freedom movement (GFM) is not perfect.  "See, their history has slavery in it which needed to be removed."  Ah yes, that is correct.  And removed it was.
But you do not see or hear anyone saying: "There was freedom in your past which needed to be corrected."  No, everyone wants to be on the side of freedom.  People flock to this country because it is the freest in the world.  Nor do you ever hear it said: "There you finally got rid of that freedom."
What is really sad is that the Progressives are trying to enslave us again.  Oh, they have not used the military yet, but they do use the IRS with its 16,000 new double barreled shotguns.  They use government overspending to enslave us under horrendous debt.  Reminds me of the "company towns" that were used to enslave mine workers---raise the prices of every necessary item so that the workers could not get away---they were always in debt.  They use fear tactics: "What will you do if the government does not give you your welfare and Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid?...The USA economy will fail if we refuse to raise the debt limit."  They raise taxes so that none of us can grow and succeed because if we do we will be a threat to their centralized planning, their Nazi/socialist state.  They use guilt by accusing the GFM of not caring for the poor since the GFM does not want the government to cram wealth redistribution down the throats of the people through taxes and welfare.  "The Tea Party is a bunch of hard hearted, gun-toting thugs," the Progressives say.  (That sounds like a description of our present government, doesn't it?  Can you say "projective identification"?)
So what do we do?  We keep setting brushfires of freedom.  Freedom is the desire of every human heart.
No one desires slavery, if they are given a choice.  Slavery, whether by government or by individuals, has to enforced; it does not grow from the heart.  It only grows in the hearts of people who want power, people who consider themselves much more intelligent than those who deserve slavery, people who have been trained at the Ivy-League schools which makes them superior to the rest of us.  A person kidnapped and raped does not say: "I want more of that."  A person robbed at the point of a gun (our government?) says: "Please, give me more of that robbery stuff."  A person being shot by a gun does not say: "Please, shoot me again."  Only mentally deranged people set free from prison say: "Please, imprison me again."
So, you see, what we need to do is to keeping the fires of freedom burning.  There is plenty of "timber/brush" out there that will catch on fire and even though the Progressives may stem its spread, it will keep burning either out in the open in a wild fire or smoldering under cover waiting for another opportunity to flash into the open.
Man, that is kind of terrifying, isn't it?  An explosive wild fire is just waiting to burst out into the open.  Of course, it is only terrifying to the Progressives, those who do want freedom for themselves (note the exemptions the Congress/government gives itself and its friends/supporters whenever it passes a new law or regulation), but do not want freedom for the rest of us.  Watch out, Progressives!  The more pressure you put on the smoldering freedom fire, the more ferocious it will be each time it bursts into the open air.
For the rest of us (the GFM), it is not terrifying, but exciting and exhilarating!  What a time to be alive!  We are in a fight that promises freedom/real life to people world-wide.  Keep up the good fight GFM!!!!

Are We Becoming Totalitarian?

"The chance of imposing a totalitarian regime on a whole people depends on the leader's first collecting round him a group which is prepared voluntarily to submit to that totalitarian discipline which they are to impose by force upon the rest." (The Road To Serfdom, F A Hayek, edited by Bruce Caldwell; The University Of Chicago Press, 2007; p 159)
Is this where we are heading or at least where BO and the ruling class is trying to lead us?  It is beginning to look like the ruling class would love to have a totalitarian regime.  BO has said he wants to drastically reform America.  He never said where he wanted to take us, except to spread our wealth around.  And he has certainly collected around him a group which is prepared to voluntarily submit to the totalitarian discipline and to impose it by force on the rest of us.  Why do you think they bought so many double barreled shotguns for the IRS after BO became president.  They obviously are expecting to force us to submit to the totalitarian regime at the end of a barrel of a double barreled shotgun.
The excuse they give so often is that we need to move faster than the Constitution allows the government to move.  Gridlock in WDC really distrubs the totalitarians because it does not allow them to move with speed to accomplish their tasks.  And so FDR admired Benito Mussolini because he accomplished wonderful things in a short period of time.  And so BO followers admire Mao Tsetung because he was a wonderful philosopher who could accomplish marvelous things with great speed.
Aha! That is exactly why our Constitution was written to tie government up.  Haste makes waste and also totalitarian regimes.  Isn't it interesting that today when our government needs to get something done, it is under the duress of an emergency.  They use deadlines to make everyone feel like we must move with speed and as a result no one gets a chance to calmly consider whatever legislation or executive order is being proposed.  This is a wonderful environment for creating a totalitarian regime, one that rules from executive order and not from carefully considered legislation.  But to get the work done with speed and haste we need to delegate to czars the power to make decisions for the rest of us.  The problem is we have czars who are self-proclaimed socialists/communists/nazis/fascists.
But a bigger problem for us are the ruling class in Congress who will not resist the movement toward totalitarianism in our executive branch.  Is it because they feel the need for totalitarianism or is it because they have no spine and just wilt in the face of these totalitarians.  Either way, we need to find a way to move that ruling class out and move in some who will shrink our government back to Constitutional size.

What To Do About Liars

How can we effectively deal with outright liars?  (You probably know who I am talking about.)
There is only one way.  Just keeping repeating the truth over and over again.
Oh, the liars will say that we are monotonous, that we never come up with anything new.
While that is itself an obvious lie, the question still begs itself: SO WHAT?  If what we are saying is the truth, why do we need to change it?
Granted, that does not mean that we will not learn, but just because the truth is monotonous does not mean we should stop repeating it.  Rather, since it is the truth, we should shout it that much louder.
It is always a temptation to try to outfox a liar, but it never works.  The liar does not care if he is outfoxed. He will just create new lies.
The problem with liars is that they are destructive.  You see, that is their whole goal, destroy the truth, make it look foolish, out of date, monotonous, repetitive.  But they are not satisfied with destroying the truth.  They desire the destruction of everything around them so that they can profit big time from the confusion.  In the confusion they can create more of their devilish, destructive works.
And so, Alinsky acknowledges in his book the "first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment", Lucifer, the devil himself, the chief of liars.  Alinsky is not interested in creating anything; he is solely interested in destroying everything.  That way everyone will be on his level, no one will have an upper hand.  It will be "every man for himself."  That is the purpose of lieing, creating utter destruction and confusion so every one will be at the bottom level.
Truth does just the opposite.  It builds people up.  When it sees someone struggling, it speaks to the situation with honesty so that the struggling can find the way out.  It does not condescend to the struggling one as liars do.  It offers a helping hand, not a condescending hand.  It teaches a person to fish so that person can eat for a lifetime, instead of just handing the person a fish for one or two meals.  Truth helps a person out of poverty instead of keeping him/her there for later handouts.  And so truth builds people up, giving them self-esteem instead of preventing them from climbing out.
But liars don't like this.  They get very angry when their bluff is called.  They consider truth tellers obnoxious because like little children, they do not get to have their way.  And so they kick and scream bloody murder with threats of killing free speech and all freedoms.  The liars want the truth tellers to continue to feed their habits.
The problem with lieing is that it is self-destructive.  If everyone ends up destroyed, the liars will have no one to fleece any more.  Then what will they do?  They will simply shrivel up and blow away, but in the meantime they will have destroyed everything the truth tellers have tried to build.
So what do we do?  We need to keep speaking the truth and we need the guts to stand against the onslaught of the liars.  If we don't we will all end up back in a primitive society where we will subsist until something new can be built by the truth.
Which would you rather have?

Who Are The Intelligent?

We who are constitutional conservatives have hope according to Angelo Codevilla.  In his book The Ruling Class he states: "(O)ur Ruling Class recruits and renews itself not through meritocracy but rather by taking into itself people whose most prominent feature is their commitment to fit in...Thus does our Ruling Class stunt itself through negative selection.  Each succeeding generation is less competent than its predecessor.  But the more it has dumbed itself down, the more it has defined itself by the presumption of intellectual superiority.  In this way, too, it has discredited itself." (The Ruling Class: How They Corrupted America And What We Can Do About It, Angelo Codevilla; Beaufort Books, 2010; p 15)
How many of the Ruling Class comes to mind when you read these words?  How many times as you have listened to them being interviewed have you had these thoughts occur to you: "What world did they come from?  What universe did they come from?  What kind of Kool-aid are they drinking?  What kind of drugs are they on?"
But it would seem from these words that the Ruling Class is going to get more and more strange.  Soon they will be off in another universe and we can get back to the business of living in the real world.
This description is so fitting because the stranger they become the louder they shout: "WE are the intelligent ones."  Those comments that the American people just don't understand should sound a bell to us: here comes some more "intelligent" talk from them.  And what happens when they do that?  People just shut off their ears because they know that the Ruling Class is going try to feed us some more nonsense. Those with superiority complex always scream the loudest when they are challenged by us inferior kind.
What do we do?  We just cling to our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and our guns, and our religion.  We keep voting out the Ruling Class and find some citizen candidates like Al West, Herman Cain, Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, Nikki Haley, etc.

Freedom Sets Creativity Free!

New acronyms: RINO - Representative in name only + SINO - Senator in name only = Ruling Class (RC) vs (CC) Country Class, the rest of us.
I have been struggling with how to differentiate between Republicans who are for small government, fiscal responsibility and constitutionalism from those Republicans who are want big government.  I realize that not all our Representatives and Senators inside the beltway and in our state governments are liberals.  So how do we distinguish the liberal ones from the serious Representatives and Senators?
How about calling them Representatives in name only; the ones who claim to represent the people but are really in it for their own careers and pocketbooks.  The Senators in name only are the ones who claim to represent their states, but are in it only for their own careers and pocketbooks.  And the liberals are not all Democrats; there are many Republicans to which that term also applies.  Just being Republican does not guarantee that one is for small government, fiscal responsiblity and constitutionalism.
This situation is what makes reform so difficult.  Those of us who want to return to our Constitution and Declaration of Independence cannot depend on either political party.  So many politicians in both political parties have become infected with the socialist idea that government needs to solve our problems, so infected with this socialistic idea that they cannot see the best solution, i.e letting the private sector find the solution.  What those socialistic politicians don't see is that government (i.e. law) whether local, state or federal never encourages creativity.  Rather it stifles creative solutions to problems.
Some law is necessary, but law/government very quickly becomes overbearing and oppressive.  Freedom from government does not necessarily cause creativity, but it removes the oppressive resistance to creativity and that removal sets the creativity free.  And when that creativity is set free watch it solve problems that the government would never be able to solve, in fact some problems that politicians may not even realize exist.
So what do we do?  Well, we do not depend on either political party bringing candidates forth that see the solutions to our problems.  We work within the parties realizing that we cannot follow the party lines, but must create our own lines of direction and work with all our strength as "outsiders", ones who do not follow the party lines.  We work with all our strength and intensity to get candidates who see that the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence gives all the guidelines we need to solve our problems.  These documents, Founding Documents of our country, show how to find solutions to our problems by hindering and halting the oppression with which government weighs us down.  These Founding Documents give us the freedom from our government, freedom that sets our creativity free to solve our problems without regulations and beaucrats.

Transforming America?

"Wilson was the first American statesman to argue that the Founders had done badly by depriving the U. S. government of the power to reshape American society.  Nor was Wilson the last to invade a foreign country (Mexico) to 'teach (them) to elect good men'...The progressives...found it fulfilling to attribute their schemes' failure to the American people's backwardness, to something deeply wrong with American...(D)emocracy in its American form perpetuated the worst in humanity." (The Ruling Class, How They Corrupted America and What We Can Do About It, Angelo Codevilla; Beaufort Books, 2010; pp 17, 18.)
"We are five days away from transforming American." (BO, just before his inauguration.)  This seems to be a hideous attitude of our government.  Our government seems to have take it upon themselves to transform, morally improve, our society.  What a joke!  We see the blatant corruption and complete disregard for law in the White House and the insistent corruption in the Congress and in the agencies of our government.  We see voter fraud perpetrated by government officials and their reluctance to allow laws to be passed to hinder such massive fraud.  We see government officials, even ones who are responsible for collecting taxes, failing to pay their income taxes until their "crimes" are exposed for the public to see.  And then we see no move by the IRS to prosecute these officials for their failures.  But if a private citizen is even implicated for such "crimes", immediately the lawyers are rallied by the government to make an example of them.  Ah sure, our government officials are going to teach us morality, truthfulness and honesty.  That is like the pig claiming to teach someone how to stay out of the mire and muck.  Maybe that is why they call so much of what our government does and our legislation "pork".
What is really pure foolishness is for any of our officials, even the honest ones, to think they can make us honest and truthful through their legislation and regulation.  Don't they know that such morality is not taught by force, but by example?  But of course, they are not able to teach us from the example of so many of our government elected and appointed officials.  Their example teaches just the opposite.  So all they have left to use to teach society such morality is to use the gun.  And we all know how well the gun works in teaching any morality.
What also seems ridiculous is the attitude of our government that we need to help other countries set up a republic.  A republic cannot be set up by forcing the people to desire a republic.  Another country can only learn how to make a republic work by watching a successful example.  And up till the last few decades we had given that example, but the election of BO and the runaway 111th Congress must certainly discourage others from following in our footsteps.  Wilson thought he could teach Mexico how to get good people into their government.  Look how successful he was!  Now BO thinks he is going to teach the American republic how to be kind, loving, honest, and a good example to the world.  He will be about as successful as Wilson was with Mexico.  We cannot turn other countries into Americas.  They can only do that for themselves if they like what they see us doing.  The only difference between BO and Wilson is that Wilson wanted to teach Mexico to be a good country and BO thinks he is going to teach the USA to be a good country.  Talk about arrogance.  A crook is going to teach the rest how to live properly.
If our officials are going teach our citizens morality, those officials need to set the example.  And if we are going to help other countries become republics, then we need to be a good example to them.  Force will never accomplish any of that.

Career Politicians?

"(T)he Ruling Class is largely professional---in the sense that ruling is itself its business...The Country Class can hope to cut that knot only by mobilizing itself against it on a principled, moral basis---understanding that the system of priveleges is dishonest, and being willing to dispense with whatever threads of it they hold...(T)he revolutionary choice for the Country Class has to be: are you willing to upset the apple cart from which you get your ration of apples?" (The Ruling Class, How They Corrupted America And What We Can Do About It, Angelo Codevilla; Beaufort Books, 2010; pp 68-70.)
Angelo Codevilla touches on several points in section of his book.
The first is that the Ruling Class is a professional class.  We have career politicians and they just revolve between the government and the higher echelons of business.  This is not good.  This is not healthy for our country.  The government needs to be made so small that it wouldn't pay for anyone to be a professional politician, a career politician.  Elected officials should not have health care benefits, retirement benefits or other such benefits.
"But if we won't do that, then we will not get the best for elected positions."  Really?  Is that why George Washington served his country?  Is that why the delegates to the Constitutional Convention served their country?
AND how well has it worked with the class of career politicians we have developed?  What have we ended up with?  Politicians who exempt themselves from laws they write, who exempt themselves from paying their taxes, who cheat on their tax claims, who treat the rest of us, the Country Class, as if we were a bunch of uneducated bumpkins who need the wisdom of the Ruling Class to guide us through life. Worked well, hasn't it?
Second, how do we untie this Gordian knot?  We do NOT untie it by creating another class or career politicians.  We as unelected citizens of this country stand toe to toe with the career politicians and confront them with the principles that come from our Constitution and Declaration of Independence.  And if they don't seem to understand, if these principles are too difficult for them to understand, we use the ballot box to get rid of them.
Third, we realize that when we upset the apple cart, we run the risk, indeed, we most likely stop getting our ration of apples from that apple cart.  That is not pleasant, but that is necessary in order to TRANSFORM our country back to the republic it was created to be.  It will be hard work if we "can keep it."(Benjamin Franklin)  But it is well worth it.  Restoring this country back to small federal government, back to a republic of states, is well worth it because that structure is what has brought us this far and given us this rich and exciting life that we have experienced so far and can experience if we are willing to put the work into it. And if we are willing to work at this, we will enjoy apples like we have never enjoyed before.

Take Our Government Back!

Back in 1776, Adam Smith understood economics better than most of our economists do today.  "Plenty of good land, and liberty to manage their own affairs their own way, seem to be the two great causes of the prosperity of all new colonies....In the plenty of good land the English coloniesof North American, though, no doubt, very abundantly provided, are however, inferior to those of the Spaniards and Portugueze, and not superior to some of those possessed by the French before the late war.  But the political institutions of the English colonies have been more favorable to the improverment and cultivation of this land, than those of any of the other three nations."  (The Wealth Of Nations, Adam Smith; Random House, Inc., 2003; p 725.)
The reason the "English colonies" in North America prospered was not because they had so much good land (or other resources), but because of the political institutions that were created for us by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  These documents gave us liberty and that libery brought us prosperity.  The freedom to manage our resources as each of us thought best created a wealth that few societies, if any, have ever known.  That freedom sparked the creativity of everyone and that creativity created wealth never seen before.  It raised more people out of poverty than any society ever has.
The USSR discovered this the hard way.  They discovered that micromanaging by the government not only makes people uncomfortable, that it is not only oppressive, but that government planning destroys the resources and the country and the wealth.  When the government does the managing, no one ends up with any wealth except the planners who fill their pockets with the profits that come from the hard work of the rest of the citizens in the country.  No wonder, Angelo Codevilla in his book The Ruling Class encourages the rest of the citizens in the country to take the country back from the ruling class, the beltway politicians.  If we don't take the country back by the ballot box, it is going to explode into Greek-type riots and bloodshed.  So we better get our act together unless we want our country torn apart.
